Many referral services and support services come forward to help the HIV/AIDS and Transgender community in this particular year.  The PLWHA members were given nutritional support, educational support, skill development training and livelihood support. The PLWHA members were given Rs.500 to ten members with the support of YWAM every month.


Get together programmes are celebrated on New Year and Pongal celebrations. This programme was organized by the home, just to make them feel happy, to reduce their sorrows, to share their happiness and to make their mind relaxed. New clothes were distributed to all the PLHA members every year. A total of around 120 members PLWHA’s participated in this get together programme.

  • Koovagam Chithirai festival

Koovagam Chithirai festival is being organized every year in the Villupuram district, a festival for the Transgender community. Transgenders on behalf of South India Positive Network attended the Koovagam festival and participated in the programmes organized by various other organizations.

  • Candle Memorial Day

Candle Memorial Day was observed by our organization on 19th May 2012 in our office.  More than 80 members participated in the Candle Memorial Day and paid homage to the people who have expired due to HIV/AIDS. They light the candle and keep silence for two minutes to remember all the persons who have died due to HIV/AIDS.

  • Children’s day

Children’s day is being celebrated in our organization every year for the children infected and affected by HIV/AIDS. Various competitions were organized for the children like Singing, Dance, Fancy dress, Running race, Bun race, Sack race etc. Prizes were distributed to all the winners and consolation prizes were also given to all the children who participate in the programme. Some of the famous cine personalities were the guests for this programme. More than 300 children who are infected and affected by HIV/AIDS from Chennai and suburbs of Chennai also participate in this programme. This programme was organized for the children to make them aware about HIV/AIDS and to disclose the status of their parents who are infected by HIV/AIDS.

  • Burn out day

Burn out day was arranged by our organization in the month of May every year just for the sake of staffs and the others to alleviate all their feelings, worries and to relax. They were taken to places like Mahaballipuram, Vandalur zoo and children’s park and around 50 to 60 children who are under our regular follow-up also joines us.


We also celebrate all other festivals apart from mentioned above like Ayudha Pooja, Christmas, and Deepavali, Ramzan etc. Birthday’s of all the staffs of South India Positive Network is also celebrated in our organization. In addition to this monthly staff meeting is been organized regularly in our

office. In this meeting all the staffs discuss about the activities, problems and proper solution is given to them.
